Jail for Craigavon man who put woman in fear of being headbutted

Craigavon Courthouse

A Craigavon man who kicked and punched a neighbour’s gate and grabbed her wrists and shook her had her in fear of being headbutted.

Jonny Titmus (34), of Parkmore, admitted charges of assault, attempted criminal damage and resisting a police officer on April 3 this year.

A prosecutor told Craigavon Magistrates’ Court that when police were called the defendant was verbally abusive to them and in a PSNI vehicle he “attempted to escape by opening the door”.

A defence solicitor said the incidents happened at lunch time and by then the defendant had already had a “half bottle of whiskey”.

He claimed there had been “verbal abuse” between the defendant and the woman.

Titmus was given a three months jail term
