Funeral details have been announced for the young man who died after getting into difficulties in Craigavon Lakes at the weekend.
He was Jamie Murray from Lurgan.
Jamie was named locally on social media after the news broke that a man had sadly died after encountering difficulties in the Lakes on Saturday evening (June 8).
It was reported that a man had entered the water in the Lake Road area of Craigavon shortly after 6pm and a multi-agency search operation was immediately launched involving police, Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, and Community Search and Rescue volunteers.
Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death are ongoing, and a post-mortem will take place in due course, however at present the death is not believed to be suspicious.
A death notice, released today, described Jamie as the “dearly beloved son of Deirdre and Jason Murray, loving daddy of Sophia, and loving partner of Teri”.
He was also the “much loved brother of Patrice, Dylan, Charlie and Niall, loving uncle to Fionnbhár, Eabhán, Ruadhán, Cían, Theo and Brodie.”
Jamie’s remains will be reposing at his home today (Monday) for family only.
Also on Tuesday, from 12pm to 3pm and from 5pm to 9pm where his family and friends are welcome to pay their respects.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, arriving at St Paul’s Church for Requiem Mass at 10am.
His remains will be interred afterwards in St Colman’s Cemetery.
The family have asked that the house be private on the morning of the funeral.
