Police have arrested a man after a large quantity of Class A drugs were seized in the Aghalee.
Detective Inspector McCamley, from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Organised Crime Branch, said: “Officers carried out a search at premises in the Soldierstown Road area of the village on Thursday evening, September 17, where suspected Class A drugs, namely cocaine, were located.
“The drugs with an estimated street value of £58,000 were seized from the property and will now undergo forensic examination.
“A man, aged 28, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of offences including possession of a Class A controlled drug, being concerned in the supply of a Class A controlled drug, and possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply.
“Follow up searches were also carried out in the Craigavon area resulting in the seizure of cash and deal bags.
“He remains in custody at this time as our enquiries continue into the investigation.
“This detection and subsequent arrest is another example of how we are working hard to tackle the issue of drugs on our streets.
“This was a substantial seizure, which has enabled us to remove a significant quantity of drugs from circulation in Northern Ireland, and potentially further afield.
