A 72-year-old Maghery man is facing charges of sexual assault.
Gerard John McKernan, of Loughview Crescent, faces three charges – two charges that he ‘intentionally touched sexually’ two girls and one charge alleging he ‘intentionally incited’ one of the girls ‘to engage in a sexual activity’.
The defendant appeared before Craigavon Magistrates’ Court, on Friday, via video link from prison.
A prosecutor said the full case file is due to be sent by police to her department before September 1.
The accused was further remanded in custody and the case was adjourned to September 12.
