A Portadown man accused of possessing both cocaine and MDMA with intent to supply will face Crown Court proceedings next month.
The 23-year-old appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ on Friday for the purposes of a preliminary enquiry (PE), the legal process during which a case is referred to the higher court.
Louis Neill, of Churchill Park, is charged with two counts of possession of Class A with intent to supply and a single charge of possession of Class B.
As these charges were read, it was heard that all of the offences are alleged to have occurred on December 28, 2018.
The substances which were alleged to have been found in the defendant’s possession were named as cocaine, MDMA and cannabis.
Appearing in court, Neill made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence barrister Michael Tierney made no contrary submissions.
Deputy District Judge Chris Holmes was satisfied there was a prima facie case to answer and the defendant was released on his own bail of £500 to appear before Craigavon Crown Court on February 23 for arraignment.
