An Armagh man who is accused of wounding a male with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assault of a police officer will face Crown Court proceedings next month.
It was heard that the 22-year-old was also alleged to have been in possession of a bottle with intent to commit an assault on the same date.
Patrick Pearse Killen, of Corrigans Court, appeared charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, assault on police and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence at Craigavon Magistrates’, sitting at Lisburn, on Friday.
As the charges were read out, it was outlined that all of the alleged offences occurred on February 25, of this year, with the offensive weapon identified as a bottle.
Appearing via videolink, Killen made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence barrister Ciara Ennis made no contrary submissions.
District Judge Rosie Watters, satisfied there was a prima facie case to answer, remanded the defendant in custody to appear before Craigavon Crown Court on November 13 for arraignment.
