Man caught with block of cannabis and 149 diazepam tablets in Craigavon Area Hospital

Ordering a presentence report the district judge described his record as 'drugs, drugs and more drugs'

Craigavon Area Hospital

A Tullygally man who was found with 149 diazepam tablets and cannabis at Craigavon Area Hospital will have to wait until next month to be sentenced.

The district judge commented that the 50-year-old’s record was “drugs, drugs and more drugs”.

Nicholas Owen Mulholland, of Aldervale, pleaded guilty to possession of Class B and Class C drugs at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Prosecution outlined that on July 14, 2018, at 10.20am, police received a report that drugs had been seized by staff from a patient.

These were namely, a block of suspected cannabis and 149 diazepam tablets.

When interviewed, Mulholland made full admissions to the offence and stated the drugs were for his own personal use.

District Judge Amanda Brady commented: “Looking at his record it seems to be drugs, drugs and more drugs. I think I am going to need a presentence report.”

The case was adjourned until April 1 for sentencing.
