A man who was convicted in his absence of possession of cannabis has been fined £500.
Court heard the 26-year-old was detected during a routine traffic stop and made full admissions to police.
Nathan Kerr, of Granville Park, Dungannon, was convicted of possession of a Class B drug at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Court heard that on November 29, at around 5pm, police spotted the defendant driving a black Mercedes and pulled the vehicle over at a petrol station.
Upon speaking to Kerr, officers noted a strong smell of cannabis and elected to search the vehicle.
The defendant handed police a bag of suspected herbal cannabis.
When interviewed, Kerr made full admissions to the offence.
The defendant was ordered to pay a fine of £500, along with the offender’s levy of £15, within four weeks.
