A Northern Ireland woman tragically passed away following a tragic road collision in New Zealand on Sunday evening.
Kirsty Samantha Moffett, 28, who was originally from Donaghcloney died in a two-vehicle collision in Roxburgh on December 13, close to her home in Dunedin – in the south of the country.
Kirsty was the cherished daughter of Sam and Hazel and beloved sister of Lauren, Natasha and Nathan, from The Poplars, Donaghcloney.
Emergency services were called to the crash just after 5pm on Sunday.
Two others were flown by rescue helicopter to Dunedin Hospital – one in a serious condition and a second with minor injuries, reports Stuff.co.nz.
Police in New Zealandd said a person had been charged with aggravated careless driving causing death and was due to appear in the Alexandra District Court tomorrow (Wednesday).
Offering its condolences to the Moffett family, a spokesperson fro Orangefield Flute Band said: “The officers and members of Orangefield Flute Band are saddened to learn of the passing of Kirsty Moffett.
“Kirsty was the daughter of our member Sam and his wife, Hazel and sister to Lauren, Natasha and Nathan. We wish to pass on our sincere condolences to the entire Moffett family and assure them of our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.”
