Two Portadown men who were involved in a fight at a local train station have both been fined £200.
The two men apologised at court stating that they had taken “more than a little bit” of drink on the day in question.
Hasan Bektas, 34, of Lynden Gate, and Ibrahim Duzgun, 32, of Carleton Street, pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
Court heard that on October 7, at around 10pm, police were called to a disturbance at Portadown train station.
Officers witnessed several males who appeared to be fighting in the train station.
On October 30, police reviewed CCTV footage which showed the males who were fighting twice knock over a passerby.
Bektas, who represented himself in court, stated: “We had a little bit to drink that day.”
District Judge Bernie Kelly commented: “I think you might have had more than a little bit.”
Duzgun then spoke saying: “It was more than a little, we are very sorry about it all.”
District Judge Kelly stated: “Just listen to the facts, you knocked down an innocent passerby twice, now that is not nice.”
The district judge took into account the defendants’ early plea and lack of record as she ordered both men to pay a fine of £200, along with the offender’s levy of £15, within four weeks.
