Despite the barely eligible and skeletal remains of a sign which should be pointing people in the direction of Oxford Island, there are no plans to repair it.
In fact, it will be removed altogether; a move one Craigavon councillor has branded as “an absolute disgrace”.
The SDLP’s Declan McAlinden says he is dismayed that despite spending close to £750,000 on glamping pods, play parks and upgrading the facilities at Oxford Island and Kinnego Marina.
“I have spoken to council officers and relayed my opposition to this and requested a meeting as soon as possible to make sure they are made new and kept.
“After spending close on £750k on these facilities it’s an absolute disgrace that one of the most visited sites in the borough is not being sign posted on one of the main arterial routes in the north.”
“I will be raising this at the next full council meeting.”
