A Dungannon man who assaulted a woman in a domestic context will have to wait until the the end of the month to learn his fate.
The deputy district judge commented that given the involvement of domestic violence this would require a presentence report.
Hermenegildo Do Carmo, 45, of Springdale, pleaded guilty to common assault at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Prosecution opened the facts, stating that on November 9, at around 8.10am, police received a report of an ongoing domestic incident.
At this point, Deputy District Judge Philip Mateer commented: “Given the fact that this is an offence of domestic violence, I will require a report.
“Mr Do Carmo, this will help me understand the background and the circumstances of the offences.”
The case was adjourned until January 31 for sentencing.
