
There has been widespread disruption for resident sin Craigavon following two security alerts in the area overnight.
Ammunition Technical Officers are currently in attendance at flats in the Aldervale area of Craigavon, following the discovery of a suspicious device on Tuesday morning.
Cordons are in place on the Tullygalley road. Officers say they will remain at the scene for a number of hours.
It follows the report of a suspicious device in the Pinebank area on Monday night.
Meanwhile, three local schools – Craigavon Integrated College, St Anthony’s PS and Tullygally PS – remain open despite the large presence of police in the area.
The Éire Óg GAA club has opened its doors to those residents affected by the security alerts.
The club posted: “A reminder that Éire Óg is still open this morning for families who cannot access their homes
“We are aware of families sleeping in their cars overnight, if anyone wishes to use the facilities including availing of free tea, coffee, toast or snacks then please call in.”
Police are expected to update the public later this morning.
