A police officer told a court a 31-year-old Portadown man said staff who reported that he had shoplifted in the town “were f*cked”.
Details were given to Craigavon Magistrates’ Court, where Andrew McCandless, of no fixed abode in Portadown, was convicted of the one charge he faced – theft of frankfurters and Doritos worth £7.77 on November 11 last year.
Deputy District Judge John Connolly said the defendant, who had a record, had spent “considerable” time in custody on remand and handed down a one year conditional discharge.
