Chiefs at the Southern Trust said they welcome recommendations put forward by the Regulation Authority (RQIA) after a report found staff nurses were feeling burnt out and stressed.
The report, carried out over four days following an unannounced visit in April, came back with the findings.
While the overall findings were positive, the inspectors observed caring and committed staff struggling to cope in various areas of the hospital.
Welcoming the latest RQIA Unannounced Inspection Report on Craigavon Area Hospital, Chief Executive (Interim) for the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, Francis Rice said: “In the Southern Trust we are committed to providing safe, high quality care with compassion and so are delighted that this report recognises the dedication of our staff to their patients and clients.
“This latest RQIA inspection report should reassure local people of the high standard of care provided throughout Craigavon Area Hospital despite the increasing demands on our services and challenges to our workforce.
“We promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement throughout the organisation and welcome the recommendations put forward by the RQIA.”
