A man who harassed his ex-partner and told her that he would “destroy her life” has been handed a suspended prison sentence.
The 29-year-old’s barrister told court that there was no longer any contact between the two parties.
Michael Moore, of Main Street, Brookeborough in Co Fermanagh, pleaded guilty to one count of harassment at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Prosecution outlined that on October 6, at 4.30pm, police received a report from the injured party regarding her ex-partner, the defendant.
She stated she had been on the train to Belfast and at 2.30pm, the defendant got on the train at the Portadown station before proceeding to sit down next to her.
However, Moore later moved away and the injured party believed that he must have got off at another stop.
After disembarking in Belfast, the injured party was approached by the defendant who asked her about her new partner and told her that he would “destroy her life”.
At 6pm, the injured party noted that she had received a number of messages on social media from Moore asking for her to contact him on a number.
The defendant was subsequently arrested and made no comment during interview.
Defence barrister Joel Lindsay stated that there was no longer any contact between the two parties.
Deputy District Judge Gerard Trainor sentenced Moore to two months in prison suspended for two years.
