Thief causes hundreds of pounds worth of damage after primary school burglary

A callous thief caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage during a burglary at a Co Armagh primary school on Monday night.

Police have issued an appeal for information following the incident in Craigavon.

The thief made off with a classroom projector, ripped from the ceiling.

A Police spokesperson said: “[We] are requesting assistance from the local community to help catch the burglar who decided to effect the education of our children.

“Last night, a Primary School in the Craigavon area had substantial damage caused to a classroom.

“A Hitachi CPDX Projector was ripped off the ceiling and stolen.

“The cost to repair damage to the school building and to replace the equipment will be over £1,000 which will ultimately have an overall effect on the school budget and our children’s education.”
