A three-year-old child has died following an incident involving a car in Aghalee.
Tragedy struck this afternoon near the toddler’s home in the Boghead Bridge Road.
The Air Ambulance and other emergency services rushed to the scene before they were airlifted to hospital.
Unfortunately the youngster passed away as a result of his injuries.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police can confirm that a young child died following an incident involving a car at a residential address in the Craigavon area this afternoon, Tuesday.
“There are no further details at this time.”
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) said they received a 999 call at 3.15pm “following reports of an RTC in the Boghead Bridge Road area of Craigavon”.
A spokesman added: “NIAS despatched one Emergency crew, one Rapid Response Paramedic and one HART Officer to the scene. The charity Air Ambulance with HEMs crew on board was also tasked to the incident.
“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital by ambulance.”
