Two men accused of serious assaults dating back to 2020 will face Crown Court proceedings next month.
The pair appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court for the purposes of a preliminary enquiry (PE), the legal process during which a case is referred to the higher court.
Gary Davidson, 31, of Union Court in Lurgan, is charged with two counts of common assault, threats to damage property, wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Meanwhile, Sam Magwood, 22, of Mossview in Waringstown, faces charges of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
As the charges were read, it was heard that all of the offences were alleged to have been committed on August 6, of 2020, relating to three separate alleged injured parties.
Appearing in court, the men made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence counsel made no contrary submissions.
District Judge Bernie Kelly, satisfied there was a prima facie case to answer, released the pair on their own bail of £500 to appear at Craigavon Crown Court on May 24.
