Vandals have targeted a children’s play area in Craigavon.
In a senseless act, they have poured paint over play equipment enjoyed by the young people at Pinebank.
And the culprits have been condemned by local political representatives.
White paint has been poured down a slide and the contents emptied all around safety surfaces put in place to protect children from falls.
And they have also daubed ‘UTH’ – (Up The Hoods) – in large, crude letters.
Sinn Fein has said they will now have to explore efforts to prevent such episodes happening again and intend raising with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council officials.
Party representative Michael Tallon hit out at those responsible.
He said: “Those involved in vandalising this play park are reckless vandals and their actions are outwardly rejected by the local community.
“We have reported this and would call on anyone with information to contact the PSNI.
“We will seek a meeting with council officials to agree a long term solution for the anti-social behaviour plaguing this park and nearby residents.”
