A man wielding a large knife on the streets of Dungannon has been arrested.
Six police crews responded to the incident earlier this morning (Thursday).
Officers received a call at around 9.30am of a disturbance in the Irish Street area of the town.
They had received reports that there was a male “in the town centre with a large knife”.
Four police crews from Dungannon and two specialist armed response units were tasked to the scene.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Well you couldn’t have missed us if you were on Irish Street…
“We received a call that a male was in the town centre with a large knife.
“Four Dungannon crews and two specialist Armed Response Units were tasked to the scene.
“Within minutes, one male was arrested on Irish Street for numerous offences and a large knife seized. “
