Mum of Tyrone girl ‘fighting for her life’ rejoices as ‘little warrior’ finally gets good news

'Thank-you all so much for the prayers, messages, and support. We’ve felt them every step of the way'

The mum of a four-year-old Tyrone girl who has spent the last number of weeks fighting for her life in intensive care has shared her delight at finally receiving long-prayed for good news.

Little Remi Attwood, from Brackaville, near Coalisland, had been hospitalised at the end of April with critical care kidney issues.

Her mum, Samantha has repeatedly called for prayer and support from her bedside, never losing hope.

Through dialysis, operations, ventilators and life-support Samantha has repeatedly put her trust in God to ensure her beloved daughter makes a full and complete recovery.

And finally, she now shares the wonderful news that after a month in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Remi has been thankfully moved into the renal ward.

Said Samantha: “She’s now on peritoneal dialysis daily through her PD catheter, and it’s going well.

“The nurses are amazing, and we’ll be trained up on it ourselves soon. Once we’re all set, we’ll be able to bring our baby girl home. One step closer to home.”

It’s a miraculous turn of events for the little warrior. She will inevitably still require a kidney transplant, but for now, Samantha says they are “taking this one step at a time”.

Of her daughter, she adds: “Remi is truly remarkable.”

And thanking the many hundreds of people who have joined in prayer for Remi’s return to health, she said: “Thank-you all so much for the prayers, messages, and support. We’ve felt them every step of the way. Can everyone please continue to pray for Remi’s recovery. Miracles really do happen.

“Remi is an earth angel. Such a little warrior. In sacred heart of Jesus I place all my trust in Thee. In God we trust. Jesus is king.”
