A company which specialises in the production, sales and distribution of e-liquids for e-cigarettes has major expansion plans in its sights – and Armagh could be a key location in that drive.
Kool Brands Ltd, is the parent company of Kool Breath Ltd, which on Friday announced its plans to relocate from Germany.
The company was founded by Armagh man Kieran Dynes and the creation of 22 new jobs has now been confirmed.
Fourteen of these will based at a warehouse at Ennis in County Clare. The remainder will be sales-related and based around the country.
The company currently sells its products through 28 outlets, but hopes to increase that to around 200 before the end of this year.
The new jobs in Ennis are expected to be only the start as the plan is to relocate operations here.
It is hoped that the future manufacture of e-liquids could be based between Ennis and Armagh.
Mr Dynes said the cost of renting accommodation is a major factor.
He told the Irish Independent: “Down the road we would like to speak to relevant agencies with a view to helping us to expand our presence.
“We are looking at 14 jobs in Ennis, mostly for warehouse staff, admin, and sales, but we are also looking at having our own manufacturing facility there in the near future. That will bring in more work and benefits to the area.
“The whole idea of all of this is about bringing manufacturing a lot closer to home and to give Ireland that jobs boost, whether in Ennis or Armagh, and hopefully in both places.
“We have looked at equipment that we can take in here so it is certainly on the horizon in the future.”
