Fire crews from five local stations were called upon to tackle a major blaze in south Armagh last night.
Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a fire at agricultural sheds at Annaghmare Road in Crossmaglen.
Extra resourced had to be summoned, as the outbreak was described as well developed.
Fire crews from Crossmaglen, Newtownhamilton, Warrenpoint, Newry and as far away as Lisburn rushed to the scene.
Firefighters had to use breathing apparatus and focussed four main jets on the fire, together with two hose reels and a foam jet.
The blaze involved three agricultural sheds containing silage and the presence of tyres also led to fears locally for public health.
The fire had been reported shortly after 10.30pm and personnel battled for several hours to bring it under control.
NIFRS has confirmed that the cause appears to have been accidental.
