‘A special place in hell’ reserved for this fly-tipper who left child’s school homework among rubbish

“A special place in hell’ is reserved for people who fly-tip!

The Northern Ireland justice system often gets a bad rap, it’s probably because Councillor Thomas O’Hanlon is not sitting on the magistrates’ bench.

It might sound extreme but the SDLP councillor was having none of this fly-tipper’s antics on the Derrynoose Road in Derrynoose over the weekend.

Trying his best at being reserved, Councillor O’Hanlon explained the situation that got him so vexed.

“Some dirty rotten scoundrel,” he said, “decided to dump bags of household waste and clothing on the Derrynoose Road, beyond the chapel over night last night.

“A smart man, with no brains, as my granda would have said.

“The delightful and thoughtful individual left some of their children’s homework in the bags!”

The child – aptly named Thomas, is a Primary 2 pupil at a school in Armagh city.

“Thomas’s parents made a bit of a trip to dump their waste,” councillor O’Hanlon continued.

“They drove past two recycling centres, which would have taken their waste for them. I’m sure Thomas and his P2 class are taught better in school. Thomas needs to talk to his parents.”

The jovial quo preceded, Councillor O’Hanlon’s lack of patience for such misdemeanours.

“There’s a special place in hell for people who do this,” he slammed. “I just cannot understand why someone would do this?”

“Thanks to those who have been in contact. It has been reported, including the school Thomas goes to! This will be cleared first thing in the morning.”

Councillor O’Hanlon asked people to share “just so Thomas’s mummy and daddy know how much we care about them and our countryside.”

Thomas certainly cares!
