Armagh Lord Mayor Cathy Rafferty has congratulated the Armagh Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership and their tremendous achievement and accolade at the weekend by winning the prestigious IPB Pride of Place 2014 award for Urban Neighbourhoods Categories Cities.
“Well done to all those involved, in particular our community workers and volunteers,” she said.
“This is an all-Ireland award with very serious competition. Since working with the partnership from 2006, an award like this shows not only the importance of the partnership, but that it is leaving and developing a legacy.
“The aim of DSD’s People and Place Strategy is to assist communities to empower themselves to combat the elements of deprivation and assist them to progress to an improved quality of life for the community via a community planning process.
“This award recognises that Armagh Neighbourhood Partnership are succeeding and are well placed for continuing the improvement process through their strategic objectives and forward planning.”
