Loughgall man returned for trial on grievous bodily injury by careless driving charge

He is accused of causing grievous bodily harm to a female by driving without due care and attention and while unfit through drink or drugs

A case involving driving offences in which serious injuries were caused has been returned for trial.

Appearing for a committal hearing was Christopher O’Hagan, from Ballygassoon Road, Loughgall.

The 30-year-old is accused of causing grievous bodily harm to a female by driving without due care and attention and while unfit through drink or drugs.

Offending is alleged to have occurred on August 15, 2021 at Drumlee Road in Blackwatertown.

A prosecuting lawyer told Dungannon Magistrates’ Court there is a case to answer which was agreed by Deputy District Judge Trevor Browne.

O’Hagan spoke only to confirm his identity and that he understood the charges.

He declined to call witnesses or give evidence on his own behalf at this stage in proceedings.

Judge Browne remanded him on £200 bail to appear for arraignment at Dungannon Crown Court on September 28.
