Police have been urged to investigate after bottles were thrown at vehicles during a late-night incident in the Avenue Road estate in Lurgan.
According to the Avenue Road Residents Committee (ARC), a red Honda Civic drove through the estate shortly after midnight on Saturday.
The car’s windows were down and loud “playing loud republican music”, with the vehicle said to be moving slowly to attract attention before bottles were thrown at parked cars and work vans. At least one van was damaged as a result.
In a statement, ARC described the incident as a “deliberate attempt to cause damage and provoke a reaction” and has appealed to residents with doorbell cameras or CCTV footage to come forward.
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart condemned the behaviour, saying: “This is deeply concerning and something that will not be tolerated. Anyone with any information please come forward and report directly to the police, or I am happy to communicate any knowledge to the PSNI.
“I have requested a meeting with the new neighbourhood commander to discuss this matter and other issues in the local area. Thanks to the Avenue Road Residents Committee for their efforts and for highlighting this incident.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101.
