A Lurgan man who shone a laser at a PSNI helicopter will have to wait until next month to learn his fate.
Court previously heard that charges of endangering an aircraft and causing danger to road users by using a laser had been withdrawn.
Sean McKenna, 27, of Kilwilke Road, pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour and shining a light towards a vehicle at Craigavon Magistrates’ on Wednesday.
It was heard the offence occurred on February 9 and the vehicle was a PSNI Air Support Unit helicopter.
This was confirmed by defence solicitor Pat Vernon as the defendant stood in the dock.
District Judge Bernie Kelly ordered a pre-sentence report upon hearing this commenting that the offences were “obviously very serious”.
McKenna was released to return before the court on June 6 when he will be sentenced.
Judge Kelly advised the defendant to attend with probation for the preparation of the report as it was for his benefit and not hers.
