Gaelic Games in County Armagh look set to be in for another boost.
For just a week after a new state-of-the-art County Armagh training facility was given the go-ahead in Portadown and another local club is planning a training facility of its own.
St Paul’s GFC in Lurgan hope to build a multi-use youth training facility at their home ground at Glenholme Avenue, Taghnevan.
An application for the works has been submitted to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.
According to the submission to council, the site is currently used as a “community sports ground facility”, comprising a pavilion and changing rooms and toilets.
It has over 50 parking spaces, two playing pitches and a training pitch.
It is described as a community and “non-profit” facility.
The club now hopes to develop on site its own multi-use youth training facility.
The state-of-the-art development would represent a significant investment by the north Armagh club.
The application will be publicly advertised this week.
