The water may be on the chilly side but the welcome will be warm at open water swimming group, the Lough Neagh Monster Dunkers.
The club meets at the Lough Neagh Discovery Centre at Oxford Island, Lurgan, and is keen to welcome new members.
It caters for everyone, from those who prefer to gently float and chat to more serious swimmers wanting to build fitness or even aspiring to challenges such as the North Channel.
Safety is paramount, with qualified open water lifeguards and coaches on hand.
Regular, shorter dunks over the winter period take place on Saturdays at 10am and Sundays at 11am and 2pm, with smaller gatherings mid-week.
Just make yourself known and ask for Dot or Chris.
Sister club, Dot’s Swimming and Open Water Club, also helps develop swimming fitness in the warmer water of South Lake Leisure Centre from 6am-7am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, all followed by a cuppa and chat at Cafe IncredABLE.
Swimming, especially open water swimmers, swear by its physical and mental health benefits.
