A four-team football tournament will be held just after Christmas in aid of the Southern Area Hospice.
The inaugural Hospice Cup for 2010’s (under 14’s) is being organised by Friends United – a charity team set up by a group of footballing dads last year.
Friends United was the brainchild of a number of local men – most of them parents – with young players coming together from clubs across a wide area including: Portadown, Dungannon, Lurgan, Armagh, Kilkeel, Newry, Rathfriland, Warrenpoint and Banbridge.
The mini tournament will take place on Thursday, December 28 from 10am at the home of Craigavon City Football Club, who will also be one of the participating teams. Warrenpoint Town FC and Oxford Sunnyside will be the other two teams involved.
All money raised beforehand and on the day will go towards the Southern Area Hospice.
Friends United, who are organising the event, alongside Craigavon City paid a special thanks to the event’s sponsors: Sabbini and Co; Oakleaf; Warmflow; Ur Style Prints; Ridgeway Mill YFC; Subway; Mid Ulster Youth League; Drumasoo Garden Sheds.
Tea and coffee, kindly sponsored by Just Desserts in Portadown, will be available on the day.
