A woman who is accused of assaulting a male armed with a drill box causing actual bodily will face the Crown Court.
Kristina Balciunaite, 41, of Demesne Avenue in Lurgan, appeared charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, attempted grevious bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
As the charges were read out, it was revealed the alleged offences were committed on August 7 and related to one alleged injured party with the weapon being referred to as a drill box.
Standing in the dock, the defendant made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence solicitor Siun Downey made no contrary submissions.
District Judge Rosie Watters said that she was satisfied there was a prima facie case to answer.
Balciunaite was remanded in custody to appear before Craigavon Crown Court on March 19 for arraignment.
