Sinn Féin Newry & Mourne Councillor Roisin Mulgrew has warned that disruption in the Camlough village locality due to essential roadworks may increase from tomorrow (Thursday), July 31.
She said: “Apparently health and safety concerns for those workers engaged in the major scheme will see the main Camlough to Newry Road closing from Safe Fuels to the far side of the Mc Creesh Monument after the morning rush hour, and will remain closed until Monday, August 4.”
“Motorists will be advised of alternative routes,” added the local councillor, who has visited many business owners and locals to discuss the project and update them about progress.
She continued: “Businesses and residents have been remarkably patient with the ongoing works scheme, which is well on schedule. I would hope that disruption will be kept to a minimum as best as practicably possible.”
