AN entry of 450 cattle at Markethill last night (Tuesday) continued to sell in a very firm demand with cull cows and store cattle in particular selling at very high prices.
Dairy stock sold to £1480 for a calved heifer from a Dungannon farmer. Kilkeel farmer called heifer at £1450, Loughgilly farmer calved heifer £1420. Several more from £1020 to £1380.
CULL COWS
The 80 cull cows sold in a very firm demand. Cow/heifers to £204 for 610k at £1245. Several more from £160 to £192 per 100 kilos. Fleshed cows from £140 to £171 for 650k at £1115. Young friesians to £139 per 100 kilos with Friesian cows from £115 to £131 for 700k at £915. Second quality friesians from £88 to £105 per 100 kilos and the poorest lots from £70 to £84 per 100 kilos. Young Friesian bulls from £140 to £154 for 630k at £970.
