A driver accused of causing serious injury to another man following a crash on a Markethill road more than two years ago is to face Crown Court trial next month.
Slavi Stoyanov Slavov, of Dundalk Street, Newtownhamilton, denies causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving in 2018.
The single charge facing the 39-year-old stems from an incident the Coolmillish Road in Markethill on June 3, 2018.
The case had been fixed for trial back in March only for the coronavirus pandemic to halt court proceedings across Northern Ireland.
On Thursday, Newry Crown Court heard from the prosecution that a trial, even with the need for a Bulgarian interpreter, will last no more than a single day.
Judge Gordon Kerr QC fixed the trial for October 21 in Newry Crown Court which is expected to last no more than two days.
