Police are appealing for help after reports of a burglary in Markethill this evening (Monday).
It is understood a number of people have fled the scene.
PSNI helicopter has been circulating over the town and surrounding area and there is a heavy security presence in the area tonight.
As part of the operation, police have appealed for help in locating a dark coloured Audi RS4, which they believe may have the registration number SK55 JHE, which was disrupted during the burglary.
It was in the town at around 6pm and police want to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle or people make off on foot from it.
Within minutes of being called, police crews were on scene.
A stinger was deployed but they swerved sped off in excess of 100mph.
Police believe at least four males were on board, wearing dark clothing with face covers or scarves, and they could be anywhere in the district or beyond by now.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “If you see any similar vehicle, or people on foot matching that description, do not approach but phone 999 immediately.”
