A state-of-the-art play park has opened in Milford as the latest in a long line of recreational and leisure facilities planned across the area.
Work is also now on site on the new park at Gosford Forest Park, while planning approval has been given for a play park in Craigavon.
Sinn Féin Councillor Garath Keating has expressed his delight following the opening of Milford Play Park.
“I hope that the play park will be used well by local residents. Every child in the city should have access to great play facilities.
“Playgrounds can act as a focal point for the community and I am delighted the local residents have a good quality space for children and families to come and play.
“Great care and hard work went into ensuring first class facilities were provided and I commend all involved throughout the process.”
Local MLA and party colleague Cathal Boylan, mirrored his sentiments, adding: “The community benefits of play parks are substantial. The importance of play parks must not be underestimated in bringing people together, forging friendships and keeping active. I am sure it will be a big hit with the local residents of Milford.”
