Preliminary inquests into the deaths of two people in the Step Inn pub bombing in Keady in August 1976 must not be delayed.
Mother-of-three Elizabeth McDonald (38) and 22-year-old Gerard McGleenan died in the UVF attack.
Sinn Féin MLA Mickey Brady said the inquests must not be delayed, given that the “Historical Enquiries Team has called the RUC’s handling of this case “catastrophic'”.
“The attack on the Three Step Inn at Keady in August 1976 was carried out with the full knowledge of the RUC Special Branch.
“They did nothing to prevent the subsequent deaths of Elizabeth McDonald and Gerard McGleenan.
“This attack was carried out by serving members of the RUC and UDR. And the car used in the attack was stolen from a serving RUC officer days before.
“A recent HET inquiry into the RUC investigation was described as catastrophic.
“It is essential therefore that, not only does the preliminary inquest go ahead tomorrow, but that a date is set for the inquest proper.”
