Habitat for Humanity Northern Ireland opened Europe’s third Habitat ReStore in Newry on Saturday and was delighted with the response from the public.
Chairperson of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, Mark Murnin, cut the ribbon to officially open the low-cost DIY store, at the launch celebration.
Habitat ReStore is a social enterprise which sells donated new and used building and home improvement material.
The shop and donation centre are open Tuesday to Saturday at 113 Dublin Road, Newry, beside Supervalu.
Since opening six years ago in Lisburn and two years ago in Ballymena, Habitat ReStore has delivered real impacts for local people and the wider community helping thousands of families improve their homes at low cost.
ReStore also provides volunteering and learning opportunities for people of all backgrounds and abilities, improving well-being and it diverts tons of reusable material from landfill, protecting the environment.
