Rathore Special School in Newry hosted its first ever Christmas Market – and it was a rousing success.
Held on Thursday evening, attendees were treated to live music, animals, delicious Christmas foods and stalls.
And of course, there was a certain special red-suited guest who brought along some reindeer to delight the children!
The school, posting on social media after the event, said: “What a night! I think we can safely say that the first ever Rathore School Christmas Market was a huge success….and then some!
“Everywhere you looked there were smiles, laughter, fun and togetherness….just what we all needed after what has been a challenging few years as a school community.
“It was amazing to see so many familiar faces join us, both our present pupils, families and staff as well as those from the past. There were also people who had never been to Rathore School before who left with a sense of what our school is all about….our children!
“There are too many people to thank individually so let us thank every single person who helped to make this evening such a success and a lasting memory for our children and their families.
“Thank you to all the wonderful sellers who offered fabulous Christmas treats at their stalls, to our live band who created the party atmosphere, to those who kept us warm with tasty food and drinks and to members of the local community who supported us by attending.
“A massive thank you to our PFA who are constantly working behind the scenes to ensure our children have the best opportunities and experiences in life. Also a huge thanks to Rathore School staff who always go above and beyond to make events like this happen. The impact you all make on our children is priceless, especially Santa, Mrs Claus and his elves who were very popular on the night! Together we can! Thank you everyone!”
