A Newry man who is accused of causing actual bodily harm to a female and maliciously wounding another will face Crown Court proceedings.
The 39-year-old appeared in the body of the court for a preliminay enquiry, the legal process during which a case is referred to the higher court, to take place.
Rafal Piotr Skrzypczyk, of Richmond Court, appeared charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of threats to kill, dangerous driving, two counts of common assault, threats to damage property, wounding and harassment at Craigavon Magistrates’, sitting at Lisburn, on Friday.
As the charges were read, it was heard that the offences are alleged to have occurred on May 18, July 13 and July 14 of last year and related to two named females.
Standing in the court, the defendant made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence barrister Conor Lunny spoke only to say that this was “conceded”.
District Judge Nigel Broderick released Skrzypczyk on continuing bail to appear before Craigavon Crown Court on at date to be fixed for arraignment.
