Man has been released on bail pending forensic reports

Police in Newry have arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of drugs offences.

The arrest follows the detection and seizure of class A, B and C drugs with a street value in the region of £5,000 by officers from the PSNI’s “D” District Support team.

The arrest happened in the Springfarm Heights area of Newry earlier in the week.

The man has been released on bail pending forensic reports.

Chief Inspector Joe McMinn said: “Good police work means that a significant quantity of drugs have been removed from sale.

“We understand that drug misuse is an issue of concern to the community and we are committed to keeping people safe by tackling drug supply.”
