A man and woman suspected of stealing a handbag in a Newry bar were arrested following the quick actions of door staff.
Police in Newry are currently waiting to interview the pair following the incident on Thursday night.
A PSNI spokesperson explained: “Last night a female left her handbag with her friends as she went to the toilet.
“A male beside their table decided he would look better with it and covered it with his coat before lifting his coat and passing to another suspect who left the scene.
“When the female returned she immediately noticed the bag was gone and raised the alarm with door staff.
Thanks to the quick actions of the door staff they caught the male on CCTV and passed the description of the female suspect to police.
“Both suspects caught, arrested and currently sitting looking at this door (main image) waiting to be interviewed.
“Oh and the bag was located too! Great work by the victim, door staff and LPT officers!”
