
Tributes have been paid following the death of a young Newry father-of-one who “left his mark wherever he went”.
Described as a “bubbly” character and “very good friend” by many, Turlough Marks passed away peacefully on March 28 surrounded by his family.
Known affectionately by friends as ‘Turley’, the news of his passing has sent shockwaves across his local community, with many paying tribute to a young man whose zest and enthusiasm for life created a lasting impact on all who knew him.
In testament of his incredible character one person described him as “the most kindest, pleasant young man”.
Of the former St Malachy’s Primary School pupil, one person said: “Very sorry to hear this. He was in my daughter’s class at school. A lovely lad, good craic and nice. Sincere condolences to his parents, siblings, daughter – very sad such a nice lad – rest in peace.
Another added: “Literally no words! So young had played a big part in everyone’s lives. R.I.P Turlough look down over your daughter and your family circle, you’re deeply, deeply missed. Condolences to the whole family circle at this devastating time.”
A death notice described Turlough as the devoted father of Kayla and treasured son of Geraldine and Terence.
His remains will repose at his late residence, 3 Parkhead Crescent, Sunday and Monday from 11am until 10pm.
Requiem Mass for Turlough will take place on Tuesday at 10.30am in St. Brigid’s Church, The Meadow, burial afterwards in Monkshill cemetery with the house private on morning of funeral.
