Two men have been arrested and stolen property recovered in Newry.
The pair were apprehended after the PSNI in Newry received a report of suspicious activity in the Demesne area of the city.
Officers went to the scene and detained the two who were arrested for a catalogue of offences, including theft, criminal damage to vehicles and interfering with vehicles.
A third man managed to evade the police and made off in a black Toyota car, with a Republic of Ireland registration, with ’98’ on the plates.
Police say they recovered some stolen property during the course of last night’s operation and have returned it to the owners.
The two men remain in custody at this time.
