Detectives have charged two men with a number of offences including fraud by false representation, failing to give notice of the right to cancel a contract and acting as a pedlar without a contract.
The pair – aged 22 and 23 – are due to appear at Newry Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
The charges are in connection with an incident in the Warrenpoint area when three males called at a house offering to power wash the roof of an elderly resident’s house.
A 42-year-old man who was also arrested was released on bail.
