Two youths have appeared in court accused of attempted murder after an assault in Newry.
It was heard that both males, who cannot be named for legal reasons, wished to make bail applications in the cases against them.
Both appeared, from Hydebank and Woodland’s via videolink, at Newry Magistrates’ on Wednesday charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
One of the defendants also faced an allegation of possession of Class B.
The charges are in connection to the report of an assault in the Cleary Crescent area of Newry in the early hours of May 29.
The offensive weapons alleged to have been in the males possession include a hammer, brush shaft, a knife and a wheel brace.
Defence counsel for both defendants asked for their cases to be adjourned for bail application to be mounted for the males on November 13.
