A drug dealer was left red faced when the smell of cannabis confirmed police suspicions of illegal activity in Newry over the weekend.
PSNI Newry posted the picture of their haul from a car in the city on Sunday afternoon.
A large quantity of cannabis and cash were seized with one person arrested for possession of Class B drugs, possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, possession of criminal property (quantity of cash) and also possession of a Class A drug.
A police spokesperson said: “Cannabis has a strong and distinctive smell easily picked up on if it is in the car, has recently been in the car or has been smoked in the car.
“With What is in the photo it certainly won’t require a trained drugs dog!! The result being one arrested for possession of class b drugs, possession with intent to supply class b drugs, possession of criminal property (quantity of cash) and also possession of a class a drug.
“These drugs were detected casually being transported through YOUR community with a possibility they were making their way to be sold to YOUR FAMILIES.
“Whether you agree with the current laws on the classification of drugs or not they are the laws we have and will be dealt with accordingly.
