The death total from Covid-19 in Northern Ireland now stands at 278 following the passing of 15 more people in the past 24 hours.
A further 106 positive cases have also been confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 3,122.
Between April 22 and April 23, 767 tests were carried out on 636 people.
The Northern Ireland of Northern Ireland care homes affected is now 63.
A total of 20,021 tests have now been carried out on 17,872 people since the outbreak began.
The latest figures come after the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) said there were 276 deaths in Northern Ireland involving Covid-19 up until April 17, 64 more than previously reported.
Meanwhile, the deputy leader of the Alliance Party, Stephen Farry, has warned against relaxing lockdown restrictions too quickly.
Speaking to BBC Radio Ulster’s Talkback programme, he said: “If we go back in a situation where we relax prematurely and we have to reintroduce measures in a few weeks time I think the psychological economic impact of that is going to be even greater than simply trying to hold the line, keep the discipline for that little bit longer,” he told Talkback on BBC Radio Ulster.
Access to testing for those with symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) has been extended across Northern Ireland to include key workers who are self-isolating because they are symptomatic or because a household member is symptomatic.
Expansion of testing provision across Northern Ireland is possible now with a third test centre opening in Craigavon to match those at SSE Belfast and City of Derry Rugby Club.
